The 12th century medieval village of Cartmel is picturesque in the extreme but also steeped in history making it a magnet for the numerous tourists to the region who are drawn to Cartmel Priory famous for its stained glass windows, modern sculptures and ancient choir stalls and to the Priory Gatehouse, now a Heritage Centre depicting the history of both the monastery and the village. This is to be found immediately off the village Square with its Market Cross, water pump and fish slabs and where the Kings Arms is a prominent feature.

The Kings Arms is a true little gem and provides you with a perfect resting place where in the summer you can while away your time sitting in the sunshine until late into the evening with one of our fantastic local ales or choose from a selection of fine wines.
